For single person households or others where you can't or don't run the dishwasher everyday, put a scoop of oxygen enzyme powder in addition to dishwashing powder in the prewash cycle and it will do a good job on dishes that may not be going to wash up properly. Running this also keeps dishwasher smelling fine.

Smelly carpets? Next time you shampoo your carpets put some fabric softer in the machine it tackles the smell. It leaves it smelling nice. ( just 1/4 cup )

Question: my home was hit by Katrina, we guted and redid all, i keep smelling mold in my kitchen, found the source cleaned it out BUT still continue to smell mold can you please tell me what to do to get rid of the smell? thanks

answer to microfiber couch- I have 2 boys (3 and 1) and I sit for 2 girls (almost 2 and 1). I use my carpet steam cleaner once a month with the soft brush attachment to clean my micro fiber couch. Resolve carpet cleaner is what I found works best for stains and keeps it smelling fresh and soft.

i use mouthwash too clean my bathroom cabinets it kills any bacteria and also leaves a fresh clean smell

use salt, baking soda and lemon juice(or vinegar) top up with boiling water to keep your drains smelling nice .

Don't discard your old bits of scented wax from old candles. Use a cheese grater to shave the bits into managable bits. Place them in a net material. Leave them in your linen closet, drawers and closets to keep them smelling fresh.

To keep the fridge smelling fresh, try soaking a few cotton balls in vanilla extract and placing in a dish. Keep it in the fridge, and change every few weeks.

A warm microwave is so much easier to clean than a cold one. Place a cup of water in the centre with a half of lemon immersed in the water and boil using the microwave. Wipe the microwave immediately and it leaves it smelling lovely and lemony fresh.

to keep your fridge smelling fresh, save all fruit skins, and freeze them, one you have done that rub on some butter and put in fridge, they will smell really fresh and keep well

A fabric softener dryer sheet in a dresser drawer will keep clothing stored inside sweet smelling ( and so nice to open up too)

Don't toss used lemons in the trash-if you have a disposal in your sink toss the lemons in and give it a 'whirl'....the disposal will be sweet and fresh smelling

To keep your refridgerator smelling fresh place a bowl of water and add one tea spoon of bicarbonate soda and half a lemon. Leave this in your fridge for at least an hour and your fridge will be smelling absolutly gorgous.
