QUESTION? We won a rugby shirt last year (matchworn and signed). I intended to frame it straight away but it hung on a hanger for a while in our hall. It didn't smell initially but after the sun had got to it, we did notice a smell. So I have two questions - 1. How can I wash the shirt removing any odour whilst not washing off the signature? and 2. How do I remove the small from the hallway, it seems to have impregnated the wall?????

This is a question really. I have an 18 month old puppy. A few weeks ago my cat decided to urinate on the carpet in the living room. The pup being the pup (and male) decided to urinate over the top of it. Now the room is absolutely stinking. I have tried washing the carpet a few times and disinfecting it, but nothing is working. How can I get rid of the awful smell? It's really embarassing when people are in the living room. I can tell they can smell it. PLEASE, PLEASE someone help me. I would really appreciate the help.

I have a question rather than a tip - How do you end the odor of cat spray that has seeped in through basement walls? The previous owner of our home had outdoor cats that attracted amorous male cats. When we experience a damp period, the smell of stale cat urine penetrates our basement walls and leaves or back guest room unusable and smelling of old cat. The walls are finished with dry wall, so attacking the actual cement walls from inside is not an option. I had once read that bleach along the outside walls will eventually cure the problem, but thought perhaps our saged experts here might have an alternative or clearer answer. Thank you to all!

If you have the smell of onion on your hands, dry your hands and rub table salt on them. The smell will disappear right away.

A good way to clean your mrrors ALL over your home including the large bathroom mirror(s) is use a teaspoon of AVON bubble bath (any smell you like, I perfer the original pink) in an ice cream bucket of warm water. Dip your cotton cleaning cloth in the water a few times then ring out. Go over small parts of your mirror with a wet cotton cloth followed by a dry cotton cloth. Your mirrors will sparkle "I GARANTEE".

Smelly carpets? Next time you shampoo your carpets put some fabric softer in the machine it tackles the smell. It leaves it smelling nice. ( just 1/4 cup )

Also for americans, if you live in an area that has hard water (ie. New England or Southwest) or water that has very heavy mineral deposits, this can make it hard for detergents to get your clothes really clean. Add a little Borax to your wash to soften your wash water. Your clothes will smell fresher and be cleaner.
