I slip a scented dryer sheet in the bottom of the garbage can, in stinky shoes, in the sofa cushions, beside the cat litter pan, in front of my osculating floor fan and in my linen closet for a nice fresh scent throughout the whole house.

If you have cat smells (I had 10 cats!!! I know this is an issue) such as a male spraying on smething such as shoes, purses or if you want to remove smoke odors from something (this only works on things that can be placed in a plastic toter.) put about 1 inch of kitty litter (non-clumping) in the bottom of a large plastic storage box, take a grate of some sort, fridge stove whatever you can set something out of the litter with, and let it set in there about a week. It will pull out and absorb horrible scents. If you can set the box outside in the sun - that's even better! This works great on books and musty items too - even horribly stinky shoes!!! To keep shoes fresh, take an old nylon knee-high stocking and fill it partially with litter and stuff it into the shoes overnight, each night!

To get your patent white shoes clean, use a little non-acetone nail polish remover on them. Buff with a aerosol furniture polish sprayed on a soft cloth. They will look like new, Also, use the furniture polish on high gloss black shoes. It takes out scratches and gives a high shine while repelling dust. Keep polishing wipes at your desk to clean your shoes. You'll always look spiffy!

13. Shoes got a soaking on the way home? Don’t stick them on the radiator like I did. They still feel nice crispy when I put them on. I’ve since discovered that patience and some paper stuffed into them is a much better solution, although drying may take a few days.

If there's someone in your house with long hair & you find it hard to vacuum their malted hair up, put your shoes or slippers on & rub your foot backwards across the carpet. The hair works itself into balls & is easy to vacuum without you having to bend down & strain your back!

Pongy trainers? Fill an old sock with tea and a couple of drops of tea tree oil, a natural antibacterial. Leave in your shoes overnight.
