you can go to your local beauty supply store and get bottles brushes, gloves and everything else you need for cleaning. haircolor brushes and clipper brushes are great tools. everything is very cheap and some come in bulk.

Not a tip, a question. How do you clean the dust and dirt from fabric items that can't go into a washing machine? I have a couple of items like a few hats, a pair of small stuffed animals, and some fabric covered boxes that are gathering dirt and have no idea how to clean them. Thanks.

If you have cat smells (I had 10 cats!!! I know this is an issue) such as a male spraying on smething such as shoes, purses or if you want to remove smoke odors from something (this only works on things that can be placed in a plastic toter.) put about 1 inch of kitty litter (non-clumping) in the bottom of a large plastic storage box, take a grate of some sort, fridge stove whatever you can set something out of the litter with, and let it set in there about a week. It will pull out and absorb horrible scents. If you can set the box outside in the sun - that's even better! This works great on books and musty items too - even horribly stinky shoes!!! To keep shoes fresh, take an old nylon knee-high stocking and fill it partially with litter and stuff it into the shoes overnight, each night!

fromoz, baked on stubborn carbon can be removed in this way : a cup of clear amonia and a plastic garbage bag. Place the soiled items in the plastic bag with the amonia and twist tightly to close. You must check periodically for left too long the amonia can discolor the metal....what doesn't melt off should be softened enough to scrub off easily....warning: for metal only!!!!! Use plenty of ventilation!!!!!!!
