I have window air conditioners. In humid weather I collect the water which discharges from the air conditioners by placing a bucket on the ground under the drip hole. I use this water to water my garden and potted outdoor plants. By washing my garden spade in the bucket after turning my compost, I also add fertilizer to the water.

use toilet cleaner on your taps and plug hole ring, the toilet cleaner is a descaler and works wonders, use any kind of sponge or cloth.

My grandmother taught me this: for a stained kitchen dishrag, wet with hot water and wring out, lay flat in bottom of sink and pour about 2 tablespoons of bleach on it, fold it in half twice or three times and roll it up very tightly and leave it set in the sink or on the counter until it is nice and white. It doesn't matter if you leave it until it's dry, unless it is worn and thin, then sometimes the bleach will eat a hole in it.

Cleaning out the plug hole in a shower tray can be pretty gruesome with lots of slimy hair and stuff? I have found the perfect tool. Use a cheap hairbrush, the type with bristles all the way round. Push into the hole, turn it around and all the hairs blocking the plug will be pulled onto the brush. You can rinse off the brush and use it again. Takes seconds.
