This tip is really neat. I have a friend wrote in a knitting forum about what she uses Listerine for. She uses it to get rid of Mosqitos. She swears that it really works. So I tried it. And you know it does. She said that you should spray the yard & your around your door to keep them from flying in. Also spray it on yourself, too. I also heard it great for cleaning too because it kill germs, too.

We went out of town for a few days. When I returned, I saw that the person caring for our animals left the door to our guest room open. Our chihuahuas were allowed to defecate and urinate all over the futon mattress. The doo-doo was easy to clean up. Can I remove that much old dog urine, and the mattress be fresh-smelling, safe, and healthy to sleep on? Or, should I get rid of the mattress? Thank you!

If you have a particularly grubby bathtub, use shaving cream! You have to use the cream not the gel, all you do is squirt some into your hand and then wipe it evenly onto the surface, leave it for an hour or overnight and then rinse, no scrubbing necessary! Also works on walls! Pencil, crayon, marker, flarn, anything :)

Clean soap scum covered shower door with an old Bounce sheet. Once used, wet it and rub over. Then go over with wet moppet and buff and dry with newspaper.

make your own oven cleaner from one tablespoon of bicarbonate soda mixed with a good cup of hot water. Wipe the whole oven, including the glass door and shelves and the stain will gradually disappear

An easy way to clean the fridge is to put the shelves in the dishwasher. Remove the top rack of the dishwasher to accommodate the size of the shelves and run it with detergent. Put the top rack back in to wash the smaller door shelves and bins. While the shelves are out you can wipe down the interior. Works for large upright freezers too.

Have you ever run your finger along the bottom inside edge of your dishwasher door? I recently checked mine, and, EEEEK! The scum is easily removed with an old toothbrush and some dishwasher powder dissolved in hot water.

HOW TO CLEAN A GLASS OVEN DOOR: I recently helped my mother in law prepare her home for a showing, and she thought I was a genius when I came up with this idea: Clean the inside of your oven door the same way you would clean a glass cooktop. First, scrape the inside of the door with a glass scraper, then put a small amount of cooktop cleaner on a cloth and buff the remaining stains away. I have also done this with the glass inserts in gas fireplace and woodstove doors. The cooktop cleaner does a wonderful job removing creosote stains and the like.
