Clean your gold jewelry on the cheap. The following applies to gold alone or with all stones but for opals, pearls, turquoise, mother-of-pearl, or any other delicate stone. Take out a coffee mug. Put one single drop of dishwashing liquid (for dishes by hand, not the dishwasher type) in the bottom and fill with LUKEWARM water. Carefully place the ring, bracelet or necklace you wish to clean on the bottom. Leave overnight. In the morning you will find a lot of dirt specks floating on top. Rinse jewelry gently with warm (never hot) water and dry thoroughly. Warning: Again, NOT for use with opals (which absorb water and are sensitive to extreme heat and cold) or turquoise or pearls, or any other stone which might absorb the water or be damaged by it or the chemicals in the dishwashing liquid.

I have a mirco-swade sofa in which my son decided to pour coffe on. How do I get it cleaned without getting the softness all messed up? Answer Stancy: Use a baby wipe for the top part of coffee stain, then a bowl of warm soapy water & a wet terry cloth. Ring the cloth out & rub it until the stain is out. Then pat it gently like you are combing & it will not lose it softness. Let dry for a while then sit & enjoy. Pam-Doggirl3

To remove tea and coffee stains from mugs; add a few drops of baby bleach to water in the mugs/cups and leave to soak overnight. My Mom gave me this tip, her reckoning was that if it didn't hurt babies bottles it wouldn't hurt adults mugs.

to remove tea and coffee stains from mugs pour a small amount of washing powder into the cups fill them with boiling water. Leave for an hour or so then empty and rinse the cups clean making sure they are rinsed properly as it may leave a funny taste if not properly rinsed. This works for me and is really easy to do
