I had a bad ink stain on my new carpet once . My son's pen exploded on the carpet and it was days before I found it. Milk, Milk got the stain out.I poured some in a bowl and used a white clean cloth and soaked it in the milk, then I gently rubbed the cloth into the ink stain. I used a steam cleaner afterwards to finish the job. But not until there was no trace of ink left in the carpet. But Milk did the job.

Rug Cleaning Tip Always rub or brush lightly from the outer edge toward the center of the stain to prevent spreading or causing the ring when using solvents especially on twist rugs and pile carpets. On old, dry or stubborn stains, saturate, blot, and brush. Repeat this operation as often as necessary to remove the stain completely. A good way to clean your mrrors ALL over your home including the large bathroom mirror(s) is use a teaspoon of AVON bubble bath (any smell you like, I perfer the original pink) in an ice cream bucket of warm water. Dip your cotton cleaning cloth in the water a few times then ring out. Go over small parts of your mirror with a wet cotton cloth followed by a dry cotton cloth. Your mirrors will sparkle "I GARANTEE".

This tip is really neat. I have a friend wrote in a knitting forum about what she uses Listerine for. She uses it to get rid of Mosqitos. She swears that it really works. So I tried it. And you know it does. She said that you should spray the yard & your around your door to keep them from flying in. Also spray it on yourself, too. I also heard it great for cleaning too because it kill germs, too.

The microwave ovens at my workplace are badly abused. I am usually the one to take responsibility for cleaning them. During my lunch break, I place a bowl of water in and nuke it on high for 10 minutes. The steam softens up the gunk and it wipes away easily.

as for the baskets under burners on an electric stove... you can buy new ones very cheap. If your oven is a self cleaning...add the baskets in for the whole cleaning cycle. Or you can get black stove pipe paint and spray paint them like new.

The microwave in my house tends to get a build up of dried on food spatters. As I do my weekly cleaning, I put a glass bowl that can hold about a pint of water and turn the microwave on for about 10 minutes. The steam from the water helps loosen dried on food! I do other cleaning while the bowl is in the microwave cooking. Most times I just wipe it all out and then rinse with bleach-water. For tougher food spatters, just repeat!
