I had a bad ink stain on my new carpet once . My son's pen exploded on the carpet and it was days before I found it. Milk, Milk got the stain out.I poured some in a bowl and used a white clean cloth and soaked it in the milk, then I gently rubbed the cloth into the ink stain. I used a steam cleaner afterwards to finish the job. But not until there was no trace of ink left in the carpet. But Milk did the job.

To clean burnt food from under the stove, try a mixture of baking soda, salt, and water. It works wonders as a cleaner, and if you make a separate batch, it can be used as toothpaste, as well!

I use a fresh scented dryer sheet in my vacuum cleaner to diffuse the house with a fresh clean scent while I vacuum.

I have 2 dogs and the one keeps having accidents on my area rugs. They are dark colors and now they have really dark stains on them. I've tried washing them with the hose and I tried white vinegar and I've even bought the carpet cleaner stuff at the store and it still won't come out. HELP!

Keep a chucks sponge in the bathroom at all times. Everyday when I brush my teeth I wipe the sink, mirror, bench and bath with the chucks. It takes 30 seconds if you do it everyday. Just use water and squeeze out really well and your entire bathroom and even mirror will sparkle. You may think the mirror will be hazy but it dries crystal clear. I have two kids and my bathroom is always sparkling. I use a cleaner on my bathroom once a week and at this time again only takes about 1 minute to clean.

answer to microfiber couch- I have 2 boys (3 and 1) and I sit for 2 girls (almost 2 and 1). I use my carpet steam cleaner once a month with the soft brush attachment to clean my micro fiber couch. Resolve carpet cleaner is what I found works best for stains and keeps it smelling fresh and soft.

I live in the US. There is a product in the market called Shower Fresh. I spray it on my glass shower doors, tiles, entire tub/shower space, after every shower. I rarely have to really scrub my shower or tub. I wonder if there is a way to make something at home that would work as well, but save money. Any suggestions?

Also for americans, if you live in an area that has hard water (ie. New England or Southwest) or water that has very heavy mineral deposits, this can make it hard for detergents to get your clothes really clean. Add a little Borax to your wash to soften your wash water. Your clothes will smell fresher and be cleaner.

Purchase turtle car wax paste and coat your bathtub/shower walls and doors. You will find cleaning up easier. Do this once every two to three months and soapscum, mold and mildew will not be able to build up.

For anyone with a stove top mess use your oven cleaner. Spray it on, follow directions for oven cleaning and wipe off! It usually will clean up the worst messes.

If you have a vacuum like a dyson, take apart the canister part, clean all the dust from all the parts, then after it drys, rub down all the parts inside with essential oil (like lavender or tea tree oil) with cotton balls. When you are done toss the cotton balls into the canister. When you vacuum again, it will make your house smell lovely. (and you are killing germs inside your cleaner)

To clean freezers or refridgerators QUICK & EASY!!!! Use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser or sumthing of the same. No cleaner needed just get it wet and wipe!!!! Gets grime off the rough texture of the fridge!!

To effectively clean a glass top stove (I hate the white one that came in my new house!!) what you do is take a straight edge razor blade scraper and scrape extra residue off. Weiman's glass top cleaner (available at Wal-Mart) and a paper towel work wonders. If you still have those dreadful black boil over marks a magic eraser can work wonders too.

A suggestion for getting dishwasher clean. I make a paste out of warm water and baking soda. With those new "cleaning erasers", I scrub all the insides with the mixture. Then take a clean rag or towel and dip it in warm to hot water and go over the entire surface. It not only cleans, but neutralizes odors. For the outside, I use a soft cloth and window cleaner. I wipe my dishwasher, inside and out about once a week to keep it clean and fresh. That way, you don't have to ever work hard scrubbing it.
