Rug Cleaning Tip Always rub or brush lightly from the outer edge toward the center of the stain to prevent spreading or causing the ring when using solvents especially on twist rugs and pile carpets. On old, dry or stubborn stains, saturate, blot, and brush. Repeat this operation as often as necessary to remove the stain completely. Keep a chucks sponge in the bathroom at all times. Everyday when I brush my teeth I wipe the sink, mirror, bench and bath with the chucks. It takes 30 seconds if you do it everyday. Just use water and squeeze out really well and your entire bathroom and even mirror will sparkle. You may think the mirror will be hazy but it dries crystal clear. I have two kids and my bathroom is always sparkling. I use a cleaner on my bathroom once a week and at this time again only takes about 1 minute to clean.

answer to microfiber couch- I have 2 boys (3 and 1) and I sit for 2 girls (almost 2 and 1). I use my carpet steam cleaner once a month with the soft brush attachment to clean my micro fiber couch. Resolve carpet cleaner is what I found works best for stains and keeps it smelling fresh and soft.

Although I have improvised with an episode from K&A this one is a gem and worth the effort. Grimy ceramic tiles...biological washing up liquid (used for clothes - doesnt matter how cheap it is) mixed in warm water and a little bleach. Gloves, scrubbing brush, damp cloth and a window squeegee (I think thats how it's spelt). Have another bucket to hand filled with warm water, start scrubbing with the floor brush (the one like cinders used) scrubbing in circular motions, get a damp cloth to wipe the parts which you have scrubbed, then get your squeezgee and wipe away the excess water, get a clean mop soak in the bucket of warm water (prepared earlier) and wash over the part you have scrubbed and squeezgeed, leave to dry and admire your hard work!!!! And your arms will be lovely and toned too!!

To keep your dryer from using up too much energy (and to get your clothes to dry faser) clean your lint screen with a scrub brush and a dab of soap or vinegar. Rinse the screen and water should fall through. Even though you're taking off the lint buildup when you do laundry, tiny particles accumulate in the screen and prevent airflow thus increasing the time your clothes spend in the dryer. Do this once a month (if you don't do much laundry) or once every couple of weeks (for families).

Dip a soft bristled paint brush in fabric softener and allow to dry. Use this to dust your knick-knacks. It will not only remove the dust but keep the dust from collecting so quickly.

Cleaning the toilet. I slip a few denture tablets in the toilet daily then just a swoosh of the brush and it is easier for the weekly scrub.

To Tracey with the plaster dust on the terracotta tiles--I'm assuming it's gotten wet? Otherwise it should have just vacuumed up. If there is not much, I would try soaking it by wringing water over a small area at a time until it softens and dilutes, and then wipe it up. If there are chunks, use a plastic scraper (like on the back of a scrubber brush) and chip it off before soaking it. That sounds like a mess! Good luck.

If you have had a sore throught or your kids have dropped their toothbrush">toothbrush, use orange flavored listerine to soak your toothbrush">toothbrush in for ten minutes. I also like to rinse out the tooth brush holder with this. It has a nice fresh smell .

To clean the mould from tiles I just use neat bleach and dip old tooth brush in and rub, or use an old nail brush.

I have figuire this out a month ago. If you use clorex floor cleaner, Scrubbing Bubbles tub cleaner 2/3 filled hot water or warm water in tub & a motorize scrubbing brush like the ones with Dawn written on them. You can get mold, mildrew, soap scum, old cauldon (sorry about the spelling, I mean the white stuff that people put around the tub that drys on it for years) off of the tub. It might take time but it will come off. And I didn't have to use bleach, I didn't have to wear gloves, mask or goggles. I save some money doing that too. Pam-Doggirl3

To get out ink off of fabrics use a baby wipe first to test to see if that will come out, if not take a bowl of warm water, soapbar & small brush to the laudry room with the stain fabric & rub the fabric with the wet bar really good then with the soap is on the fabric add spray & wash on it and scrub real well with the brush then put in washer to extra cleaning. The ink will come out for sure.

To clean tile grout line mix 2cup of bicarbonate soda, 1cup borax, and about 1cup of hot water. This will make a paste. Smear some of the paste in grout line and scurb with a grout brush. Second have some clean hot water in another bucket for rinseing.

Cleaning out the plug hole in a shower tray can be pretty gruesome with lots of slimy hair and stuff? I have found the perfect tool. Use a cheap hairbrush, the type with bristles all the way round. Push into the hole, turn it around and all the hairs blocking the plug will be pulled onto the brush. You can rinse off the brush and use it again. Takes seconds.
