as for the baskets under burners on an electric stove... you can buy new ones very cheap. If your oven is a self cleaning...add the baskets in for the whole cleaning cycle. Or you can get black stove pipe paint and spray paint them like new.

To effectively clean a glass top stove (I hate the white one that came in my new house!!) what you do is take a straight edge razor blade scraper and scrape extra residue off. Weiman's glass top cleaner (available at Wal-Mart) and a paper towel work wonders. If you still have those dreadful black boil over marks a magic eraser can work wonders too.

brighten a whole room by dry dusting the light bulbs! Also from learning the hard way: NEVER wipe those light bulbs with a dryer sheet! It smells so good at first, then the perfume burns and smokes and turns your bulb black. Live & learn!

I put my children's bath toys into the dishwasher to clean them. If they are really funky I will soak them in bleach solution first. If the toy won't make it through the dishwasher, it wasn't really worth it! Also, I removed the squeaky from the toy shark, after discovering that it was growing black mold inside. It doesn't make noise anymore, but I know it won't hurt the kids either. :) Love Kim & Aggie my heroes!

To get your patent white shoes clean, use a little non-acetone nail polish remover on them. Buff with a aerosol furniture polish sprayed on a soft cloth. They will look like new, Also, use the furniture polish on high gloss black shoes. It takes out scratches and gives a high shine while repelling dust. Keep polishing wipes at your desk to clean your shoes. You'll always look spiffy!

black spots on wood furniture can indicate mildew. don't just varnish over it, treat it with bleach first and then re-apply the finish

to remove the black mould that can grow in the corners of windows, use an old toothbrush dipped in a mixture of water and bleach
