To easily remove burned on grease, pan drippings etc. from stove burner grids, soak them in a strong solution of hot water and laundry ammonia. I use a Dutch oven covered with a lid to protect against the fumes. You can leave it outside if you want. Soak them until the spills just wipe off. If your grids are very bad, you can soak them overnight. It doesn't hurt them.

Sometimes when the drip pans under the heating elements get baked on greasy from neglect ( and my husband) I will boil them in very hot water (no soap) for about 10 minutes, using tongs to take them out, I will then wash them with dish detergent. It saves a lot of scrubbing. Love you gals!

When my baked on enamel roaster pan gets "stuck on dirty", I simply put it in the oven on the cleaning cycle for about an hour. Then, after it's cooled, I put it in the sink and rinse and wipe it down. NO SCRUBBING! Saves lot's of time and elbow grease.

Have a baked in mess in your casserole dish, pot, or pan? Stick a dryer sheet (Bounce, Snuggle, etc) in the bottom, fill the pot or pan up with water, and let sit overnight. It wipes clean with little to no scrubbing!

f you have a dirty pan that you just can't seem to get clean or you burned something this really works! Squirt a little dishwasher detergent in the pan and fill with hot water. If it is encrusted inside and out then fill the sink and immerse the offending pan. You can leave it overnight but if it is just stuff burned or dried on a few hours will suffice. Works great even on old baked on stains! Scrub with nylon brillo pad. It usually wipes right off with no effort. The best brand I have found is Cascade Complete. It eats right thru all the food and grease. It only takes about a teaspoon for the average pan. You can also use it on stovetops and ovens.

fromoz, baked on stubborn carbon can be removed in this way : a cup of clear amonia and a plastic garbage bag. Place the soiled items in the plastic bag with the amonia and twist tightly to close. You must check periodically for left too long the amonia can discolor the metal....what doesn't melt off should be softened enough to scrub off easily....warning: for metal only!!!!! Use plenty of ventilation!!!!!!!

My Aunt gave me this tip about 30 years ago. Clean up baked on stains from pans by adding a teaspoon, or so, of biological washing powder to water in the pan and bring to the boil. Make sure that you keep an eye on the pot as it's prone to boiling over. it make take a few minutes of boiling for really hard staining. Wash the pan in your usual way and any residue will come off with just a wipe. This has even worked when my stock pan has boiled dry & I thought I'd need to bin it.
