If you're cat's anything like mine you'll find he still can't work out where the litter tray is. I use a mixture of white vinegar and water to blot up any 'accidents' and stop any smells.

White spirit will take care of anything when it comes to stains around the house, just make sure you water it down a bit first and don't use it on anything valuable

This is a brilliant tip if you've got kids (and your kids have got crayons!). Spray WD40 onto the crayon stain and just wipe away. Works every time!

Very dirty brass can be cleaned with brown sauce. It works on hammered & embossed brass, too. Polish after cleaning. From romay123

I found out by accident that spraying furniture polish on trainers makes them whiter (if they were dirty say) so it probably works on other things

If you've used a plastic bowl with raw onions, fill with water and a tablespoon of Milton and leave to soak overnight. The smell will be gone in the morning.
