Vinegar is a good disinfectant because of its acidity. If you "neutralize" the odor with baking soda, you will DECREASE the acidity, and probably decrease its germ fighting ability.

A good way to clean your mrrors ALL over your home including the large bathroom mirror(s) is use a teaspoon of AVON bubble bath (any smell you like, I perfer the original pink) in an ice cream bucket of warm water. Dip your cotton cleaning cloth in the water a few times then ring out. Go over small parts of your mirror with a wet cotton cloth followed by a dry cotton cloth. Your mirrors will sparkle "I GARANTEE".

Keep a chucks sponge in the bathroom at all times. Everyday when I brush my teeth I wipe the sink, mirror, bench and bath with the chucks. It takes 30 seconds if you do it everyday. Just use water and squeeze out really well and your entire bathroom and even mirror will sparkle. You may think the mirror will be hazy but it dries crystal clear. I have two kids and my bathroom is always sparkling. I use a cleaner on my bathroom once a week and at this time again only takes about 1 minute to clean.

For mold on the ceiling in the bathroom: dilute bleach in a spray bottle with water and spray away. The bleach kills the mold and fades any stains without need of scrubbing.

For everyone who loves to use baby oil, they now have a concentrated baby oil gel. Lasts longer, very cheap, and not as messy. But only found in the baby aisle.

This isn't a tip but I need help! I have a tarnished stainless steel shower mixer and tap - I think this was caused by leaving Viakil on it for too long - does anyone know how to get rid of unsightly tarnishing? thanks

for homemade shower fresh: ½ cup laundry detergent and ½ cup vinegar mixed with three cups water. Pour into a 32 oz spray bottle and mist on daily. No need to wipe down or rinse. or 1 Cup vinegar, 1 squirt of Dawn, 1/4 Cup Jet Dry Pour all ingredients into a spray bottle. Fill the rest of the way with water. Do it slowly. Cascade can be replaced with Jet Dry

I live in the US. There is a product in the market called Shower Fresh. I spray it on my glass shower doors, tiles, entire tub/shower space, after every shower. I rarely have to really scrub my shower or tub. I wonder if there is a way to make something at home that would work as well, but save money. Any suggestions?

I was hoping that someone could give me a tip. The cabinet under my bathroom sink smells funky. It smells of a combination of urine and damp. I tried cleaning the cabinet, spraying it w/lysol and putting a mixture of baking soda and carpet freshener and none of it helped. Does anyone have any suggestions that work??? Thanks, Alisa

This isn't a tip, but I was just wondering how you get the yellow stain that some rubber-bottomed bath mats leave on linoleum floors. I've tried Vim and Bleach and scrubbing furiously, but it's stubborn and won't come out. If anyone knows how to get rid of the yellowing, please share your knowledge!
