Here's how I keep my kitchen clean and sanitary. I keep my wiping rags in a bleach water solution. I use a plastic margarine tub filled with water, a capful of bleach, and a tap of dish detergent. I keep my rags in there all the time. They are sanitized and ready to disinfect my counters. Best of all, they are always white! I usually throw away the old tub when I have a newer one empty. You recycle at the same time.

To Lorimay, who has grease stains on glass: Have you tried the K&A standard of 1 part vinegar, 1 part warm water, and a few squirts of liquid soap? The vinegar and soap are both great grease fighters. I have just used this on a very old mucky sash window I picked up at a flea market (read: picture frame) and it turned out very well. Mix the ingredients in a spray bottle and use crumpled newspaper to wipe. This will take a little bit of elbow grease, but it works like a charm.

to remove tea and coffee stains from mugs pour a small amount of washing powder into the cups fill them with boiling water. Leave for an hour or so then empty and rinse the cups clean making sure they are rinsed properly as it may leave a funny taste if not properly rinsed. This works for me and is really easy to do
