if you have burnt on food stuck to your pans, add some warm water and a little washing up liquid and put it back on the hob until it boils.this shold lift that food right off

To keep your refridgerator smelling fresh place a bowl of water and add one tea spoon of bicarbonate soda and half a lemon. Leave this in your fridge for at least an hour and your fridge will be smelling absolutly gorgous.

To descale your kettle mix a teaspoon of citric acid (available from your local pharmacy) with a pint of warm water, leave in the kettle for 3 hours and it should be clean as a whistle

Can anyone help....after keeping a washing machine in storage for six weeks it now has a stale musty odour, have tried hot wash with soap powder, also tried small amount of bleach but nothing has got rid of smell.

to remove tea and coffee stains from mugs.pour a small amount of washing powder into the cups.fill with boiling water.leave for an hour or so.empty and rinse cups clean.make sure they are rinsed properly as it may leave a funny taste if not.this works for me and is really easy with no hassle

Clean stained cups by using half a denture tablet and warm water (not bleach or washing powder) left to soak overnight.... a quick rinse. No nasty bleach smell.

To clean tea stained mugs drop a denture cleaning tablet in each cup and fill with warm water. Leave a few minutes and rinse - they gleam and it costs pennies!

To shine stainless steel sinks generously sprinkle either table salt or baking soda into the sink then use the cut end of half a fresh lemon as a scrubby-pad. Rinse with hot water and the sink will gleam
