Not a tip-question- does anyone know how to get burned on food, grease,etc of the stainless steel baskets under electric stove burners? I can't stand the look of foil on them.

to descale your kettle, pour some malt vinegar and water (50/50) over the element of your kettle, and boil the kettle

It's a pre-recycling one. When you've finished squeezing your lemon, don't chuck it in the bin or compost. Cut it open and rub it over your hair - it will give you natural highlights in the sun! Of course if you favour dark hair - stay well clear! Oh and of course - then chuck it in the compost bin :)

make your own oven cleaner from one tablespoon of bicarbonate soda mixed with a good cup of hot water. Wipe the whole oven, including the glass door and shelves and the stain will gradually disappear

I am looking for a suggestion to clean my grout on my ceramic tile floor. I can't stomach the smell of vinegar so I am looking for an alternative that won't break my back (had surgery and have newborn). Thanks so much. I am addicted to the show!

I use a rolled up bit of white bread whenever i've dropped a glass or plate in the kitchen - much easier to blot up the slivers!

I find that if you don't do any washing up then your girlfriend inevitably cracks before you do, scrubbing the kitchen until it gleams whilst you watch the cricket...

To keep your refridgerator smelling fresh place a bowl of water and add one tea spoon of bicarbonate soda and half a lemon. Leave this in your fridge for at least an hour and your fridge will be smelling absolutly gorgous.

to clean a cooker door : bicarb and washing up liquid mix into a paste rub it all over oven door ( i left mine for two hours while i was cleaning my cupboards ) get a kitchen scraper like the ones you remove ice with and away you go .... i see this tip on how clean is your house IT WORKS !

If you have any left over lemon from making dinner, pop it in the cutlery drawer of the dishwasher and it’ll give a nice smell and sparkle to your dishes.

It's nice to have a few plants in the kitchen, but you can get water spillage when they are high up. Instead, get some ice cubes out of the fridge and put a few in each pot.
